Help me, was I raped?

I just wanted to know if I was almost raped or just taken advantage of or what happened. So, last night I went to watch a movie with a guy I met a few days ago. I have no friends at college and he said he'd be my friend. So we went up to his friends dorm and had some drinks. I thought we were gonna watch the movie there, but of course it didn't faze me when I found out we were watching in his dorm room. And we watched the movie, but he kept hugging me and trying to get closer. I could tell he was getting a little discouraged because I wasn't responding to him in the way he wanted. I told him I had a girlfriend earlier hoping that that would set some ground rules automatically, but he said I shouldn't have a girlfriend because I was in college. Anyways after the movie, he started kissing me and kissed my neck and left hickeys all over them. I told him to stop... and that I didn't want hickeys all over my neck. And he said to trust him. I told him I can't do this I have a girlfriend, but he kept going. He lifted up my shirt and started to suck on my nipples and then he reached down in my pants and started to play with me. I told him I was on my period and that I should go. If I hadn't said that I don't think he would have stopped. I cried myself to sleep. Especially when I saw the hickeys and when I realized what almost happened. And I had just figured out how much I really love my girlfriend. That guy didn't care!!! My girlfriend is coming tonight and I have to tell her and I don't know how. I'm afraid she isn't going to want me anymore, and I have to live through this alone. Whether or not it was an almost rape. I'm scared and upset and so many other things. Please help
