1994 ford ranger will not stay running?

once i start my truck sometimes it will turn on but within two seconds wind back down and turn off. after that it will not start at all it just keeps cranking but will not start. the other day it would not even crank and i wiggled the battery cables around and it started. then later did the same thing and after wiggling them it started. now it will only crank and not start. within the past few months i have had fuel pump and wiring. idol air control. and mass air control sensor replaced. and my throttle is fine. so idk if it could be something else and just a conscience that wiggling the cables started it the first few times or not. but now it will just start up for a second And die down and then only crank and not start. any ideas?
